The Colon Free Zone Users Association, one of the most important business organizations in the country, was established on November 5, 1979. Its purpose was to unite and represent the users of the Free Zone, and to defend the rights and interests of associates, contributing day by day to make the Colon Free Zone the best free trade area in the world.

A non-political organization, the Users Association has won important battles on behalf of its members throughout its 28-year history. The Association has also sought to maintain the Free Zone's level of competition, attracting foreign investment and new companies in an era of great challenges, a globalized economy and open markets.

In addition to this, our Association has kept a strong relationship with the Colon Free Zone's Administrative Board, in order to promote the Free Zone as a logistic center of international commerce both at home and abroad, without forgetting its obligations to the province of Colon.

The Association has developed strong ties with the private sector and governmental authorities to coordinate important aspects of the national economy. To do this work, 17 working commissions, which participate in an active manner in studies concerning transportation, roads, airports, sea ports, security, customs and commercial exchange, among others.
